In oil and gas processing facilities, piping systems operate under extreme temperatures, high pressures, and aggressive chemical exposure. A properly selected pipe shoe support prevents excessive local stress at the contact point between the pipe and the structural steel, reducing the risk of fatigue cracking, corrosion under insulation, and misalignment caused by thermal expansion or vibration. The Pipe Shoe Support for Oil and Gas is manufactured from ASTM A36 or A572 Grade 50 carbon steel as the standard material, with the option for AISI 304 or 316 stainless steel where enhanced corrosion performance is specified. The saddle is cut from the same schedule as the supported pipe to ensure full-radius contact and uniform load distribution across the pipe wall. Vertical web plates are sized according to the design load, and the base plate is normally supplied with oversized slotted holes for field adjustment and alignment. For insulated lines, the shoe height is increased to match the insulation thickness, and a polyurethane foam or mineral wool insert can be integrated to maintain the vapour barrier at the support location. The complete assembly is blast-cleaned to Sa 2.5 and coated with a two-part epoxy system, fusion-bonded epoxy, or hot-dip galvanizing according to project specification. PTFE slide plates, polished stainless steel slide surfaces, and UHMWPE liners are available to reduce the coefficient of friction to below 0.10 during axial and lateral movement. All welds are full-penetration and tested by dye penetrant or magnetic particle inspection for critical applications. Each assembly is dimensionally checked against a calibrated master saddle template to guarantee a minimum 120-degree contact angle with the pipe.
