The Petrochemical Pipe Shoe is fabricated as a one-piece welded assembly that distributes vertical and horizontal loads evenly across the support steel. It consists of a base plate, vertical web, and contoured pipe cradle formed to the exact outside diameter of the line. Standard material is ASTM A36 carbon steel, with optional ASTM A572 Gr. 50 for higher strength, ASTM A516 Gr. 70 for improved low-temperature toughness, and 304L or 316L stainless steel for aggressive corrosion service. The cradle radius is machined or precision rolled to match pipe sizes from 2 inches through 48 inches NPS. Base plate thickness ranges from 10 mm to 25 mm based on calculated bearing pressure and anchor bolt pullout. Vertical web thickness is selected to resist local buckling under horizontal thermal movement and occasional lateral loads. All structural welds are continuous fillet or full penetration groove welds, visually inspected and magnetic particle tested where required. Surface preparation follows SSPC-SP6 commercial blast cleaning. Coating systems are applied under controlled shop conditions to the dry film thickness values shown below. Optional slide plates made from 25% glass-filled PTFE or mirror-polished stainless steel can be bonded to the cradle to reduce friction during pipe travel. Metric and imperial dimensions are supplied without altering the load-rated design.
