The Type F Variable Spring Support is a robust, pre-calibrated load-bearing assembly designed to compensate for vertical displacement in high-temperature and high-pressure piping systems. Its heavy-gauge steel housing encloses a factory-set helical spring coil that maintains a near-constant supporting force as the pipe moves through its thermal cycle. This support is widely specified for Industrial pipeline Variable Spring Support, Power Plant Variable Spring Support, Oil and Gas Variable Spring Support, and Refinery Variable Spring Support installations where thermal expansion, vibration, or foundation settlement can alter pipe elevations during operation. The standard product line covers 18 frame sizes with load capacities from 0.5 kN to 450 kN and travel ranges up to 300 mm. Load flanges, connecting rods, and structural attachments are fabricated from ASTM A36 carbon steel plate, while the spring coil is wound from chrome silicon or chrome vanadium steel to resist relaxation under cyclic loading. All welded seams are full-penetration joints, and each unit is proof-loaded to 1.5 times the rated working load before leaving the factory.
The Type F Variable Spring Support incorporates a fully enclosed spring housing, a graduated travel indicator, and a removable locking pin for safe field adjustment and installation. Because the spring force varies with displacement, this support is best applied where vertical movement is moderate and a constant-load hanger is not mandated by the design specification. The top plate can be drilled, slotted, or welded to match standard beam connections, while the lower load flange accepts either a welded pipe lug or a bolted clamp. A clear acrylic window on the side casing allows quick visual inspection of spring position without disassembly. The Type F Variable Spring Support can be ordered with enamel epoxy, hot-dip galvanizing, or stainless steel hardware to suit corrosive industrial environments. Preset spring tolerances are held to ±5% of the chart load, and every unit is serialized for traceability. For elevated-temperature service, graphite-based lubricant and high-temperature coil coatings are available to maintain smooth operation up to +400°C.
