Not every pipe run requires a constant load. When the thermal displacement is limited, a variable spring hanger offers a reliable and cost-conscious solution. As the pipe expands or contracts vertically, the support force changes within a known and controlled range. The spring is sized so that this load variation stays within the limits set by the pipe stress analysis, preventing overstress on connected equipment while keeping the pipe properly supported from cold to hot.
