Elbow Pressure Balanced Expansion Joint

Elbow Pressure Balanced Expansion Joints for pipe bends (also known as pressure-balanced compensators for curved pipes) are specifically installed at pipe elbow locations. They can simultaneously accommodate both axial and lateral pipe displacement. Relying on their own tie rods and bellows structure, they balance the internal pressure thrust of the medium, eliminating the need for heavy-duty fixed supports and preventing the transmission of blind flange thrust to sensitive equipment such as pumps, compressors, steam turbines, and other sensitive equipment. It is a specialized compensation product for pipe sections with elbows and inlet/outlet lines of equipment.

Selection & Installation Guidelines

1. The product is installed at pipe elbows to accommodate combined axial and lateral displacement; it must not be used as a standard straight-pipe expansion joint.

2. The large tie rod, spherical nut, and bellows are the core load-bearing components; cutting, welding, or striking them is strictly prohibited.

3. Transportation-restriction bolts must be removed before commissioning; otherwise, the product will be unable to compensate for displacement properly.

4. The piping system requires only simple guide supports; main fixed supports capable of withstanding internal pressure thrust are not necessary.

5. For product selection, provide the pipe diameter, pressure, temperature, axial compensation capacity, lateral compensation capacity, and matching elbow angle.
